World Partners for Development
Serving The World's Underserved
Why choose World Partners for Development (WPD)?
WPD is a recognized 501(c)(3) international nonprofit organization. We have been verified by major global
nonprofit organizations like, Idealist, World Association of Nonprofit Organizations, Global Nomads Group, U.S.
Center for Citizen Diplomacy, Ghana Registrar General, and many more. We also expose volunteers to real
community programs and culture that will fulfill your heart desire in volunteering. You will also develop world-class
skills for any international work place.

Do I need any special skills to volunteer in Ghana?
Not at all, our community programs/projects need all level of skills and experience.

Who will I be helping?
Your skills will be used to help in our local community projects.

Why pay to volunteer?
Your payment cover all of the program cost mentioned earlier. Our group also use some percentage of the funds
to contribute materials and other resources to the overseas project. The communities you are going to serve are
already in need of infrastructure and support. Therefore community members and our partners are unable to pay
foreign volunteers to come and assist, or able to provide financial support for visiting volunteers whilst they help to
improve the quality of their lives.

Do I need Travel Insurance?
It is highly recommended to have travelling insurance whiles travelling to a foreign land to volunteer. World
Partners for Development can refer you to a travel insurance company. Their policy includes outstanding medical
and accident coverage.

Do I need any injections?
This will depend on the country you choose to go. We don't send volunteers to health problem areas. Talk to your
doctor  for more advise on your need for injection or immunization.

Do I have to know the local languages before my volunteering?
No, what you need is a basic English. Your host volunteer group and the host family will orient you on basic local
language phrases.

What do I gain from this program?
This program gives you the life time experience about the country you visit and also gives you the inspiration for
giving a helping hand to the needy. It also enhances your resume with international project experience.

How can I contact previous volunteers on your project abroad?
Please read volunteer stories, or if you contact us we will then give you the contact information of a WPD alumni.

What is your support strength in the overseas country?
We have offices and trained English-speaking staff in each destination. These friendly people set up placements,
check out your accommodation, pick you up at the airport and provide you with any support you need should any
problems occur. You also have your host family who will treat you like a family member. There are supervisors at
all your placement jobs to assist you. You will never be alone.

Are the countries and communities safe?
We always send volunteers to countries which are politically stable and safe. If they are not safe, we don't go. We
always check from State Department regarding stability and safety.

Where from help in case I'm ill?
If you are sick, our overseas office will find you a best medical center. In the event of any serious illness, all
volunteers are covered by a comprehensive insurance policy. WPD staff will link up with your family, the insurance
company, and the medical team.
