Around the World, the rural poor suffer from hunger and disease
|
What we do
World Partners invests in the potential of vulnerable people through community development
initiatives in health, education, environmental sustainability, and social entrepreneurship.
Our programs are associated with real life modern and traditional communication methods
which better communicate with people who can not read or write.
Health
Deadly diseases like HIV/AIDs, malaria, and water borne diseases are absolutely devastating
in many developing countries. As a result, parents are left without children, and many
orphans have no parental support. WPD is committed to lowering the incidence of these high
rate deadly diseases by teaching methods of prevention.
Education
Education is a very powerful tool to combat poverty in people's lives. It is a vision of WPD
that people have access to quality educational programs. Our educational programs
empowers communities in the following areas:
- Social entrepreneurship which seek to generate "social value" rather than profits.
- Community involvement in the importance of children education.
- Youth development and life skills programs
- Global education and inter-cultural exchange - WPD partner with other organizations
to give the young and adult the power to share and interact within a culturally diverse
and globally interconnected world. People and communities worldwide are connected
through video conferencing educational programs on global issues. Topics include,
health, community development, environment, child trafficking, modern technology,
political-systems, entrepreneurship, art, and other nation's cross-cultural
communication skills.
Environmental Sustainability
In order to reduce poverty and achieve sustained development, it must be done in
conjunction with a healthy planet. We educate communities on environmental sustainability
because it plays a major role in global economic and social well-being. Land and water need
to be managed effectively so they are able to maintain human basic ability to produce more
food, and thus combat world hunger.

Serving The World's Underserved
Solar Light for Remote Villages - In poor remote communities with no electricity, lighting often costs the most, typically accounting for 10-15% of total household income. Light from kerosene lanterns and wooden torch lights produce serious pollution of carbon dioxide which has very serious effect on human health and the environment. WPD is introducing such communities to an LED solar light system to light up homes and also help school children to study at night. This also help grow night sales business activities in rural communities.

Women and the Environment - women are empowered to use their natural resources to combat poverty by undertaking income-generating ventures such as snail rearing, mushroom, and other women in development projects through micro credit assistance. .
