Around the World, the rural poor suffer from hunger and disease

Remote rural village school children rarely
have electricity light to study at night. They
commonly obtain light from kerosene or
wood. Burning of these fuels for study
causes numerous health problems, including
lung and eye diseases. Purchasing and
transporting kerosene is a high expense for
poor family members. It is against this
background that WPD is partnering with
other organizations to provide solar light to
school children in such underserved
communities for their night activities including
studies, exams prep, debates and many
more. The solar electric system will be
installed by partner solar groups who will
train local groups for basic maintenance and
repairs.
The roles that buildings play in modern
society are as diverse and profound as
the persons that use them. It is important
to recognize that buildings significantly
impact human comfort, productivity,
efficiency, and the social legacy and
environmental footprint future generations
will inherit. Maximization of all these
outcomes requires serious study.
Through the use of comparative analysis
of various building types, using a “whole-
building design” approach, To learn some
of these best approaches for Ghana
